The principle of the VITEX COMPACTGRAIN: Self-sharpening
Compactgrain abrasives are coated wit a granulate and, due to their special design, they always have a coarser appearance than conventional abrasives. Each granulate grain is a fixed unit in which numerous abrasive grains consisting of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) or silicon carbide (SIC) are bound to each other. Abrasive grains that have worn down are torn out of this bond by the grinding forces, which exposes unused grain tips.
